Love, Death and the Devil

Campaign: practise seeing beauty

Image 1: The Chessboard Room

In the series LOVE, DEATH AND THE DEVIL the Ben J. Riepe Company opens the first image in a surreal chessboard room. The production with two dancers, two actors and a music composer takes the spectator to rooms filled with abysmal beauty.
The choreography follows the principles of - quick, unwashed, free – and shatters aesthetic conventions.
With the agenda “Practise seeing beauty” the Dusseldorf-based choreographer Ben J. Riepe realises a series of five performances in one year. The individual performances are being developed in a short period of time, thereby prioritising intuitive and elusive elements. The pace is fast, process and effect are instantaneous.
Choreography/Concept: Ben J. Riepe; With: Linda Nordström, Evgeny Pankratov, Alex Alves Tokmitt, Helge Vögler, Lukas Vögler; Lighting: Dimitar Evtimov; Music: Alex Alves Tolkmitt; Costumes: Anna Kleihues.
