Ben J. Riepe
studied dance and choreography at the Folkwang Hochschule, Essen.
He worked at Neuer Tanz, Düsseldorf and was a guest-dancer in the Ensemble of Pina Bausch at the Tanztheater Wuppertal. While still a post-graduate student of choreography he came to public notice with his first productions. In addition to that he taught classes and workshops both in Germany and internationally.
The Company Ben J. Riepe exists since 2004 and has already performed four full-length productions. On behalf of the Goethe-Institut he tutors a contemporary dance production with Malay artists in Kuala Lumpur in Autumn 2007.
The Jury of the Tanzplattform Deutschland 2008 honours him as one of the best 50 German choreographers. In this context an artist portrayal of Ben J. Riepe will be published in the Tanzplattform brochure and on the homepage of the Goethe-Institute.
Ben J. Riepe is part of the Chin-A Moves-Projekt that has been initiated by the tanzhaus nrw - an artistic collaboration of Chinese and European Artists. In May 2008 he attended the project's exchange congress for choreographers.

Fa-Hsuan Chen
was born on 05. November 1976 in Tainan (Taiwan).
She attended the TAIWAN Tainan Woman’s College of Arts &Technology from 1993 until 1998 and continued her education at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen from 2001 until 2004.
During that time she choreographed a few minor productions and worked with Kuo-Chu-Wu and was assistant to Ben J. Riepe for “Anderland” (2004).
After graduating from the Folkwang Hochschule she worked with Morgan Nardi/Ludica, Leonard A. Cruz, Double C and Gerda König.

Deborah Gassmann
was born on 19. July 1982 in Luzern. After studying Theatre and Philosophy at the University of Bern in 2003 / 2004 she moved on to the Folkwang Hochschule Essen to study stage dance and graduated in 2008. She worked with Hannes Leo Meier, Irina Loretz, Lior Shneior, Stefan Brinkmann, Fang-Yun Lo, Max Pothmann, Luciano Berio, Rodopho Leoni, Werner Neke and Angie Hiesl.
She works with Ben J. Riepe since 2008.

Swanhild Kruckelmann
was born 19. October 1976 in Filderstadt.
She received her education in dance and drama in Berlin and in Essen at the Folkwang Hochschule.
After graduating in 2003 she started, and still is, working as a freelance dancer and actress. She performed in productions by Juan Kruz Dias de Garraio Esnaola, Nina Homolka, Christine Knecht/Markus Grolle, Anna Sokolow and Tom Stromberg
She worked with VA Wölfl/NEUER TANZ (Revolver) from 2004 until 2006 and spent three months in New York City on a scholarship (Kunststiftung NRW) in Spring 2006.

Linda Nordström
was born in Linköping, Sweden, on 31. January 1979.
She attended the John-Cranko-School, the Ballet-School of the Württembergische Staatstheater from 1994 until 1996, where she was educated in classical dance.
After her A-levels she began studying at the Folkwang-Hochschule in Essen and graduated in June 2003. While still a student she worked with Manuel Quero, Joachim Schlömer, Jasna Vinovrski and Juan Kruz Diaz De Garaio Esnaola.

Evgeny Pankratov
was born 18. April 1979 in Petrozavodsk (Karelia, Russia).
He was trained at the Child- and Juvenile-Theatre for Plastic Drama GRIM since 1989. Soon he became one of the Company’s soloists and won prices at the ALL-RUSSIAN FESTIVAL and on various international festivals.
In the course of his education he was trained in classic and modern dance, in drama and stage-performance. Since 1997 he also worked as the Theatre’s choreographer. After the Theatre GRIM stopped producing in 1999 he became director of his own company and was involved in various international projects.
Since January 2004 he studied contemporary dance at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen.

Julian Stierle
was born on 4. November 1981 in Herrenberg, Germany. He worked as an actor at the Vereinigte stättische Bühnen Krefeld und Mönchen-Gladbach before he moved on to study dance at the Folkwang-Hochschule in Essen in 2004. Since then he worked as an actor, choreographer and dancer with artists like Rodolpho Leoni, Mark Sieczkarek, Stephan Brinkmann, Malou Airaudo, Chikako Kaido, Fang-Yun Lo, Harald Schulte, Florian Mattil, Mariann Kaiser, Martin Meier-Bode, Sven Post, Stefanie Rahn and Joachim L. Bähr.

Alex Alves Tolkmitt
Alex Alves Tolkmitt studied classical and Brazilian guitar in Brazil and classical composition at the conservatory in Bern. The Brazilian-born musician creates music for theatre, film and dance and releases CDs with his own compositions. He started working with Ben J. Riepe for „amour espace“ in 2007.

Dimitar Evtimov
was born 22. March 1979 in Sofia / Bulgaria.
He lives in Germany since 1992, where he reached A-Levels at the Georg- Büchner- Gymnasium, Düsseldorf. After studying Engineering in Aachen from 2001 until 2003 he was trained to be an event-operator at the tanzhaus nrw in Düsseldorf, and graduated in January 2007.
He works as event-operator and lighting designer for Ben J. Riepe since August 2006.

Anna Kleihues
Anna Kleihues was born in Westphalia in 1975 and raised in Berlin. She studied physics in Zurich and Toulouse, art at the Rhodes Island School of Design and at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. In 2007 she graduated at the Academy for Fashion and Design in Düsseldorf with honours. She started working with Ben J. Riepe for “amour espace” in 2007.

Helge Vögler
was born 22. April 1944 in Danzig.
She studied Ballett and modern dance in Hamburg under Lola Rogge. Subsequently she studied dance at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” in Hamburg, where she received her education as an actress by Prof. E. Marks.
She was trained in speech therapy in Witten-Annen, following that she graduated form an educational program in breath therapy by Dieter Bartels in Hamburg.
Since 1968 she worked at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Zimmertheater Münster, the Freie Volksbühne Berlin, the Forumtheater Berlin, the Reichskabarett Berlin with Volker Ludwig, the Schaubühne am Halleschen Ufer under Peter Stein, and 2006 and 2007 at the Schauspielhaus Dortmund under Michael Gruner. She is head teacher for drama and vocal-formation classes at the " Fletch Bizzel" Theatre in Dortmund since 1994.

Lukas Vögler
was born in Tübingen in 1981. He received his training as an actor at the Schauspielstudio Frese in Hamburg from 2004 until 2007. Since then he works as a freelance stage and film actor and performed in productions by Andreas Ingenhaag, Dietrich Trapp, Barbera Neureiter, Isabel Osthues, Brit Bartowiak, Hartmut Uhleman, Karin Drechsel, Carola Unser, Mona Winkel, Nina Lötscher and Tom Bweilugua.
He works with Ben J. Riepe since 2008.

Justin Yep
was born on 28th October 1977 in New Delhi, India.
He received formal dance training in Ballet and Modern Dance at the Fontys Hogescholen and graduated as a Choreographer from 2005 until 2008. Prior to moving to the Netherlands he received training and also worked as a professional dancer for The Danceworx in India from 1998 until 2005.
In India he danced in productions choreographed by Jaan Freeman, Nik Hills, Anastacia Flewin, Franziska Rosenweig, Ashley Lobo, Ivan Pulinkala and Cesar Augusto Moniz. He also worked with Fernando Aguilera, Santosh Nair, Anna Huber and Suzanne Buirge.
While a student in the Netherlands he choreographed several productions for festivals like Dans in de Elzent and Brabants Dansweek.
He worked as a dancer with companies like United-C , Station Zuid and independent choreographers like Eddie Becquart and Keith Derrick Randolph.

Patrick Mueller
was born 5. February 1979 in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA.
He attended the Pomona College, Claremont, CA for dance and performance from 1998 until 2002. During that time he was involved in the Limon Summer Dance Intensive, San Jose, CA (Summer 2000) and the American Dance Festival, Durham, NC (Summer 2001 und 2002).
He worked at the Dance Space Center, Movement Research, NY, NY from 2002 until 2005 and then attended the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH for Choreography from 2005 until 2006.
While at University he worked with Scott Rink/Dance Rink, JMandle Performances/Mark Jarecke and Paige Martin, was a member in the Mark Jarecke Dance and the Troika Ranch Dance Theatre Company and produced his first choreographies.
He lives and works in Germany since 2006, where he, among other things, worked for Sabine Seume.
